Science teachers with high quality are needed in elementary schools at the era of "Knowledge Economy" .The problems of constructing elementary school teachers crop out in the new round of fundamental education curriculum reform . Recently , Chinese elementay school science teachers' inferiority results in the poor quality of elementary school science education. This thesis , first, analyses the necessity of the specialized cultivation of elementary school science teachers. And then,it makes a comparation on the developments and characteristics of elementary school science teachers' cultivation home and abroad . Further more , it inquires into tactical problems how to utilize normal schools' professional training. For example , as to the aim of cultivation, emphasis is to be laid on training of high science quality teachers with one specialty as well as other abilities ;as to curriculum Installation, much attention is to be paid to the efficient cooperation among common subjects, science subjects and educational subjects, science subjects and educational subjects ;and as to professional training ,a model focussing on making the "Study during exploration " as the main means of science teachers' training is to be put forward .Finally , this thesis suggets a science education major in regular colleges should be set up as soon as possible in order to meet the trend of Chinese elementary school science teachers' specialization.
