There do exist students of superior talents(SST). To teach such students is undoubtedly a great pleasure of one's life. However, how to implement appropriate and effective education to them remains a puzzling problem. In our country this has been explored deliberately since the late 1970s and through 20 years of research, educators have made preliminary progress in such fields as individual characters, psychological traits and models of education. However, there has always been lack of deep probation into education at the level of pedagogy. In the paper that follows, the author endeavors to probe into their features of learning Chinese, the course and materials for them, the teaching principles and methods, and even the selection of their teachers within the hierarchy of Chinese teaching. The approaches of Chinese teaching designed for middle school SST are different from those for early youth class of universities or primary school pupils. Because of so many specialties in areas like teaching goals, course designing and material selecting, teaching principles and methods, it become urgent to balance improving SST' attainment of Chinese and passing entrance examinations. After presenting literature review on the related findings both at home and abroad, the author proposes a basic framework for teaching such students Chinese at the present stages. The research is intended to be beneficial to the Chinese teaching for middle school SST.
