This essay, after reviewing and analysing the condition since Reading - oriented teaching came into practice. holds the view that the present reading teaching has come to be deviating from its original intention, thus unable to shoulder the responsibility of cultivating student' s skills, (namely, reading, writing, listening, speaking), and leading astray the Chinese Language Education. Furthermore, it analyses the cause of all this and holds that it is mainly due to the test - oriented education, which tends to ignore student - entered position and writing exercise. This essay puts forward some new ways to exert the original function of reading teaching. That is, writing training is set as a break- through point, to promote the combination of reading and writing and with it the comprehensive of reading and writing and with it the comprehensive improvement of philology ability. In the end, the essay presents three points of teachers should pay attention to while practising: its training system scientific and flexible: its cutting- point where reading and writing meet accurate and to the point; its education theory and knowledge structure brand- new and rationable.
