This thesis is the conclusion of studying about the situation of family in knowledge study, and it mainly analyses the representation and process of family rules.By using the method of qualitative research, on the base of interviewing three families whose children study in junior high school and collecting data by field observing, the thesis explores how family rules affect children' s knowledge study and how the process runs . At the same time, learning from the theory of signs interactive of George Herbert Mead (1863-1931), it analyses the reason that family rules form in the specific educational situationWe can draw four points from the research: first, when parents educate their children, pre-setting of rules always builds on the base of school education; second, parents do not pay enough attention to the importance of family education in the educational system during compulsory education; third, the incompletion and fault in the content and system of the parents' educational concept greatly affect the content and the development of family rules in the process of studying knowledge; forth, family rules in knowledge study implies the relation of worlds between daily life and knowledge study life.Through the problems reflecting in the cases, the author suggests that when educating children in the family, parents should emphasizes the effect and function of family rules, and often adjusts these rules in the specific situation. Simultaneously, the author also suggests that developing good family rules in the knowledge study requires actively cooperation among parents, teachers and educational researchers .
