| The population urbanization is a common law of the development of countries all over the world. Since the reform and opening-up, with the economy's fast and continuously development and the setting-up of the socialist market economy system of our country, China's population urbanization developed rapidly while the population urbanization level improved a lot. But all in all, because of our country's low economic development level, population urbanization developed very slowly and even lag behind the level of developed country and average level of the world remarkably. In 2003 our urban population rate was 39.1%, not merely far lag behind 80% of the average level of developed country but lower than the world by 50% of the average level too.
