This dissertation is based on the case study of the major -Yi culture resources management Liangshan University, and studies the function of the higher education for national minorities to the traditional culture inheritance in the view of anthropology. The author puts forward that the colleges and universities should spread the traditional ethnic culture by means of professional lessons. Universities should combine traditional ethnic culture with contemporary mainstream culture, thereby spread the excellent culture of ethnic minorities and educate talented management person. And it appears that in the teaching process, difficulties, problems even predicaments are unavoidable. The dissertation supports the necessity and importance of setting up such majors. The author put forward how to improve and develop the Yi culture management major. The author thinks the tentative idea to set up such major is proper and should be spread to other universities in nationality areas.The preface introduces the reasons for selecting this topic, the current relative research result on this topic, the important sense of the research and the theories and methods of the study in this thesis.The first section introduces the relationship between education and culture inheritance, as well as the study background of the Yi culture. By means of expounding the basic concept and the connotation and denotation of the traditional culture of ethnic minority, the author decided to divide the analysis into two steps, culture substance technique and community essence. On this foundation, the author assessed the present situation and mistake area during the preservation and development of the Yi culture, and described the necessity and potential of such preservation and development. The research shows that a cultural function is consubstantial with education on the purpose. The basic function of education is its cultural function. Education exercises the economic function indirectly by the culture.The second section introduced the survey of the LiangshanUniversity and the Yi culture resources management major. Moreover it analyzed the sense of the major establishment. It accords with the relative policy for nationality education and the West Development.The third section inquests and analyzes the Yi Culture Resources Management major. First, theoretically, it executes all the main functions of higher education. Secondly the author analyzes several other typical national majors in some other universities in national area and compares them with Yi culture resources management major. Thirdly, in the way of questionnaire and interview, a series of problems and predicaments are discovered. Finally, the author pursuits the reasons by functionalism theory.The forth section estimates the foreground of Yi Culture management major. To begin with, the dissertation demonstrates that now Yi culture faces both the challenges and the opportunities, which is also the problem that all nationalities around the world have to face. Under this background, the Yi Culture Resources Management major should relocate itself. Simultaneously the government should guarantee the successful establishment of that special subject by means of good policy and adequate outlay. The author predicts that the major will work well. This calls on a lot of prerequisites such as the management persevering in the principle of holding and spreading traditional culture, the scientific administration and educating in accordance the education regular pattern, and the minds of overcoming difficulties at the moment. Moreover it is necessary and feasible to expand this sense to universities in other ethnic area. Other educational institutions may learn lessons form Liangshang University and pay attention to evading the similar problems.Finally the author pointed out that the case study of the major of Yi Culture Resources Management in Liangshan University is representative and typical.
