High School Research Study Design And Practice

As a newborn thing, research-based learning has a short history, but grows leaps and bounds. Nowadays, in the course of our nation's new curriculum reform, research-based learning, as a core in comprehensive practical activities, has been rated as an obligatory curriculum. This article emphasizes on the planning and implementation of research-based learning in senior high schools, and so provided high school teachers with feasible help in their practice of research-based learning.The structure of this article represents the train of thought of the research, which goes from theory to practice, from the integral to the case. It is made up of four parts. The first part gives a brief account of the definition and the significance of research-based learning and introduces the situation of its curriculum in senior high schools at home and abroad. The second part elaborates its planning ideas and implementation process in senior high schools and so offers a general directory frame for our schools to carry out research-based learning in the comprehensive practical activities. The third part considers the way of its implementation and its teaching pattern in subject teaching, with a choice of biology as a typical case, so as to facilitate its development in depth in different subjects. The last part relates to the case study of research-based learning, which is an exploration on concrete practice based on theoretical research involved in the second and third parts. This part chooses one school as a typical case to investigate into and elaborates the planning of school-based curriculum on research-based learning. It also selects a research team as a typical case to expound how to develop a research topic concretely. All these elaborations will be conducive to spreading and popularizing the research-based learning in our nation's schools through the practical case study.
