This thesis is to study practically the vocational guidance for general high school students. In our country, after more than ten years of researchers' exploring in this field, some certain research results have been made in vocational guidance theories. Therefore, more attention in the thesis is paid to the practical issue of vocational guidance, and what kind of vocational guidance is effective and instructive to high school students under the situation that the social life is changing rapidly. The focus of the issue is to discuss the feasibility of carrying out vocational guidance for senior middle school students from the midcosmic point of view in the background of curriculum reforms today.From career education point of view, the author tries to write out the teaching plans suitable for actual conditions and furthermore discuss the conditions of carrying out successfully vocational guidance in high schools, basing on the survey results of vocational guidance demands from high school students and the personal teaching practices, and considering the tides of curriculum reforms in the world today.For the writing of the thesis, the author taught the students of Grade Two vocational guidance, which was taken an elective course one hour per week up to 19 hours in all, in Yan'an High School of Shanghai City during the period from Sept. 2001 to Jan. 2002. The thesis is based on the teaching practices, at which vocational guidance is just taken as an elective course, teaching time limited and teaching way lecturing. Therefore, at the beginning of it's writing, the author hoped that it could be taken as reference material directly for vocation guidance teachers in high schools.The whole thesis is divided into 3 chapters as follows.Chapter one, the Situation of Vocational Guidance and Some Reflections. In this chapter, it gives a review of vocational guidance development in our country, and gives some reflections on and analyzes the situation of vocational guidance in senior middle schools in Shanghai. Based on the above, it points out the problems in vocational guidance in high schools at present time, and suggests the principles of vocational guidance theories in the tides of curriculum reforms in the world.Chapter Two, Writing Qut Teaching Plans Suitable for High School Students in the Way of Lecturing Based on the Teaching Practices on Vocational Guidance. The teaching plans consist of 10 parts, which include self-understanding, understanding occupations, and learning to make decision etc. And the plans are evaluated from the both angels of students and teachers.Chapter Three, Discussion about the Conditions of Effective VocationalGuidance in General Middle Schools It is discussed from three aspects such asguidance teachers, teaching methods and teaching environments, which involves the professional standards of vocational teachers, the methods of teaching activities, the essential material conditions of teaching ensuring and social psychological conditions.
