Network Education System Management Technology And Implementation

With the rapid development of network technology and gradual popularization of Wide Band , various applications based on Internet/Intranet network are rising , such as E-Commerce and E-Learning. Online education is one of the remote education technologies. Compared with traditional education modes and the common remote education modes, it enjoys an unexampled excellence. Its most prominent advantage is being economical, for online education can sufficiently reuse the existing computer network, thus, saving much investment in basic establishment.While online education is carried out, plentiful learning information is produced. The information is distributed in different places. Each independent online education system will produce a lot of useful learning information. The learning information is essential for online education system to grasp student's learning progress and evaluate the lesson's quality. To effectively utilize the scattered information, an online educational administrator system based on Internet is needed. This system provides not only an interface to look over and to maintain the online education information, but also a way to evaluate the teacher, the learner and the learning object.The thesis first gives a brief introduction to the basic term, current situation, and existing problem of online education. Then the thesis brings about a preliminary discussion on the basic implementation method of online education. These main implementation techniques of online education system include the technique based on customer/server structure, the technique based on browser/server structure and the technique based on flow media technology. Then the thesis introduces a remote education system (BlueGLAS). On the basis of these preliminary discussions , the thesis focuses on the implementation methods of the online education system's systematic administrative technology, and how to apply the administrator systemto the statistical analysis of users' progress.The implementation of the systematic administrative system is comprised of two parts: systematic analysis and implementation. At the systematic analysis stage, Rational Rose 2000 is adopted to build system model, which has defined system's user and main module (user case). The systematic administrative system includes three modules: systematic administrator, local record viewer, and remote record viewer. It facilitates instructor to manage users, accounts, units and classes, and provides the interface to view local learning record and remote learning record on servers. Powerbuilder is employed to implement the program.At last some analyses are made on the existing problems of the systematic administrative system in the thesis, and methods are put forward to solve the problems, pointing out the direction to work further in the future.
