Metacongnition is the topical subject studied and discussed in the international maths teaching field. In this essay, you can see the following points: Concept and structure of- metacongnition with the help of maths teaching practice, Ways and suggestions of how to develop students'metacongnition ability, Use and effects of metacongnition in high school maths teaching.Developing students metacongnition ability in maths teaching is very meaningful. First, it is the way of improving the maths teaching quality; secondly, it is the key to improve students' maths thinking ability : finally, it helps to change students' "passive learning" to "active learning". But according to the result of the surrey carried out among the students, we find that their metacongnition is very poor: too little metacongnition knowledge, single studying method, poor self-controlling ability and no feed-back of their maths learning. In this essay, there are four ways of developing students' metacongnition ability:(1) maths thinking training to develop the students' correct maths sense.(2) Self-reflection thinking training: a. in the process of solving a problemb. in the class conclusion.(3) Rectifying training to develop the students self-controlling ability by analyzing their mistakes.(4) Solving problem training to develop the students self-controlling ability on their thinking process. We should let the students know what and how important metacongnition is by showing them ours in maths teaching, or train then to control themselves by using "list of self-control".There are there priciples we should obey: self-control and teacher-control; subject learning and studying; active querying and self-reflection.
