With the frequent political, economical and cultural communication between China and other countries, the enrollment growth of the students abroad in our country also presents a rapid growth trends. The influx of a large number of foreign students, for students management work in China, is a severe trial. Besides which, there is no lack of examples of contradictions between students managers and overseas students caused by cultural differences.Through the contact with Southeast Asia Students in Yunnan Normal University, I found numerous unpleasant events on dormitory and teaching management caused by cultural reasons of thinking between students and managers. I conducted questionnaires, interviewed teachers and used other research methods to learn about the current situation of students abroad manage in colleges and universities. The aim of the research is to identify problems and propose corresponding solutions. This thesis is divided into five parts. The first part is an introduction, mainly introducing the research background, research methods and significance. The second part based on quantitative and qualitative research, descriptive statistics the questionnaire making and sending, interview object etc., which laid a foundation for writing below. The third part is divided into two parts as the dormitory management and teaching management, each part is composed of two cases. I try to find the attitude and problems when Southeast Asian students in face of the management of cultural differences, and closely combining the relevant theories of cross-cultural management to make a further interpretation. The fourth part summarized the issues we discussed and put forward ways of improving based on the above study processes. The last part summarizes the full thesis, putting forward to the deficiency and future research. Culture does not have right or wrong, cultural conflict is not only produced by one party. The main methods to minimize conflict are participating in mutual communication, taking advantage of cultural differences, maximizing the superiority of different cultural background, different languages, people of different religious beliefs, and minimizing difference in order to achieve management optimization.
