Estimates are widely used in our daily life, such as, shopping, traveling. While learning math, in order to improve the accuracy of calculation, we can use estimate to try the quotient, which can check the result of calculation. As a necessary tool of mats learning and life, estimate owns its unique value. So, in our math teaching, we must enhance students’ estimating skill and equip them with strong sense of numbers.In math study, Firstly, we need a situation to help student understand what is estimate and its value, purpose and function, which will improve their interest. Situations should be various, so that children can choose proper ways to solve it. Through practicing, they ate familiar with the ways of “intercept method, times method, round up-round down method.” Combine theory with practice, so that children’ ability of calculation can be improved.This research uses the following methods: literature survey, questionnaire survey, classroom observation, case study. The research is based on the children of grade 3-6 from Yun Jing Hong Primary School. Through the survey, we can have an evaluation of children’ ability of estimate, so that provide some cases of estimate to promote the math education of the children.
