| This is important measures to complete governance structure of university that legally entrusted academic power to faulty and clarify the responsibility, and related to the whole higher education system. The academic power and academic responsibility of faulty have never been respected, because there is lack of academic freedom, and safeguard system in China. So we try to review current the relationship between academic power and academic responsibility of faculty, and be comparing with American University, find out the problem, delving into its root causes. And take example by the experience of American University to come up with some specific improvement measures, hope to structure out a perfect state of academic power and academic responsibility of faulty equals in China University.The research methods adopted by this dissertation are literature review method,and comparative study method.This dissertation is composed of five chapters, and its structure is as follows:Chapter one, that is preface part, elaborates research problems and significance of this study, using the literature review method to research academic circles related in recent years, found out the deficiency in present study. This will contribute to distinct the methods and ideas of this thesis.Chapter two, mainly introduces some basic definitions, for instance “power and academic powerâ€, “duty and academic responsibilityâ€, and illustrates relevant theories.Chapter there concentrates on the fundamental theory research on the academic power and academic responsibility of faulty. First, analysis basic elements of academic power of faulty, and elaborate why faculty have academic power.Second,analysis dimensions, rationality and specific content of the academic responsibility of faculty, and illustrates the faculty have to undertake academic responsibility. Finally,through to explore the relationship between academic power and academic responsibility of faculty puts forward a view of the academic power and academicresponsibility of faculty must be equivalent, and points out the necessity and significance of this kind of peer relationship.Chapter four focuses on the state of the academic power and academic responsibility of faculty. We try to review current the relationship between academic power and academic responsibility of faculty, and be comparing with American University, find out the problem, delving into its root causes. And take example by the experience of American University to come up with some specific improvement measures, hope to structure out a perfect state of academic power and academic responsibility of faulty equals in China University.Chapter five, that last part, summarizes the whole paper and illustrates the result of research, from which we can see deficiency of the research and the direction of further efforts. |
