Research purposes:executive function is the core of cognitive activities. When completes the complex cognitive tasks, it can coordinate variety of basic cognitive processes and control the advanced cognitive process. It can be divided into three sub functions:inhibition, work memory and shifting. Many studies have indicated that the executive function of children with learning disabilities is deficient. However, there is a lack of research on the executive function and academic performance of children with learning disabilities in the form of sports intervention. Based on the existing research results, this study designs a sports intervention program in the form of basketball from physical, movement, environment and strength. To explore the effect of middle intensity basketball intervention program on executive function and academic performance of students with learning disabilities, this can provide evidence for the relationship of physical exercise and learning disability, between brain executive function and academic performance. Also it can promote the EF of learning difficulties and improve their academic performance, which provides a choice of sports intervention programResearch subjects and methods:select three classes of six grades with the most difficult dividing into control group 1 (22people), the control group 2 (18 people) and the exercise group (29 people).Control group 1 is the conventional teaching group and group 2 is conventional teaching group based basketball. The bodies of experimental object are healthy, also, intelligence and color vision are in the normal control. Then, the experimental group has a period of 10 weeks of basketball intervention training, and the control group is the normal teaching content. Measuring the changes of the primary school students, executive function with learning disabilities before and after the exercise intervention. Comparing the changes of the learning achievement of the primary school students before and after the two final examination results.Results:(1)The positive effects on EF in the learning disabilities, students were varied 10-week moderate intensity basketball intervention program (F(2,66)=8.312, P=0.001<0.01).But there are differences in the effect of promoting the three sub functions.(2)There is no significant effect on the inhibition, function (F(2,66)=0.76,P=0.47> 0.05).But, Significant impact on the work memory, function is available (F(2,66)=3.90; P=0.025<0.05) Effect on the shifting, function is very significant, and this is the best effect(F(2,66)=16.67; P=0.000< 0.01).And the effects of the three groups were the experimental group was better than the control group2 and the control group2 better than the control group 1. (3) 10 week, s basketball intervention program has a positive impact on the academic performance of students with learning difficulties, and the Chinese performance has a significant impact (F(2,66)=13.18; P=0.000< 0.01).Math scores have also the remarkable influence extremely (F(2,66)=8.56; P=0.000< 0.01), but no effect on English achievement F(2,66)=1.82; P=0.17>0.05).And the experimental group was significantly better than the basketball control group and the normal control group. (4) shifting, function and work memory, function have significant predictive effect on academic performance, The predictive power is 8.9% and 7.9%.However,there is no significant predictive power for Math(F=1.129, P=0.343>0.05) and English (F=0.614, P=0.609>0.05).In this study, The mediating effect of executive function on academic performance is not significant.Conclusions:(1)10-week moderate intensity of basketball sports intervention on learning difficult students have a positive impact on executive function, but there were differences in the dimensions of each sub function. Shifting, function and work memory, function have better effects, and the best is the shifting function.(2) basketball can improve the learning difficult students executive function, but the different forms of basketball have different effects for the pupils with learning difficulties. Having the design of the intervention of basketball exercise program can be better for the pupils with learning difficulties than the normal basketball teaching.(3)Basketball can effectively improve the academic performance of students with learning difficulty, but the degree to improve the Chinese, Math and English is different, showing a greater degree of improvement in Chinese and mathematics.(4)exercise can improve the academic achievement of the pupils with learning difficulties. Also, shifting, function and work memory, function have significant predictive effect on Chinese. But in this study, the exercise do not improve the academic performance of students with learning difficulty through the improvement of the students’executive function. |
