Application issues has been a key and difficult in mathematics teaching. The compulsory education of junior middle school mathematics new curriculum standard will be "comprehensive and application" as an independent teaching sector listed, with the "number and Algebra", "graphics and geometry", "statistics and probability" together. Meanwhile, the new curriculum standards made it clear that the purpose of mathematics teaching in junior high school includes cultivating students applying knowledge and methods to solve practical problems, to cultivate students’ awareness of the problem, application consciousness and innovation consciousness, the accumulation of the activities of the students’ experience, improve students’ ability to solve practical problems. Therefore, as a link between the real life and mathematical knowledge, how to teach application issues in the junior middle school become more and more important.In this paper, the author defines and classifies application issues, and through the multiple dimensions of the new curriculum standards, mathematics textbooks, nearly ten years in the examination paper to elaborate the importance of application issues in the junior middle school mathematics teaching. Then I selected 10 students in my school who have difficulty in solving application issues and made an structured interviews with them, so this part of the students’ problem-solving difficulties arise due to the: First, teachers are boring in the teaching application issues, so the students are lack of interest in learning; Second, students in the problem solving process will appear inexplicable tension; Third, the application issues in junior school are more difficult than in primary school, these students have problems in the process of adaptation; At last, the students are not rich in life, so it is difficult for them to understand the reading materials of application issues; Through careful analysis of the above four reasons, the author puts forward four teaching strategies about how to teach application issues in the class : First, to enhance teachers’ professional standards, mining mathematical information from our life; second, to strengthen the students’ psychological guidance to help students overcome barriers of problem solving; Third, pay attention to the development of students’ reading ability and indirect experience of teaching; At last, combined with practical background, discuss the reading materials with students.Finally, according to the four teaching strategies, the author is prepared three teaching designs according to the textbooks, Then I have classes in my practice and substitute school. By way of questionnaire survey to obtain student feedback about the three teaching practice and do some teaching achievement analysis and reflection after classes. In this paper, the author to summarize four teaching strategies by a series of investigation and literature researches. And then I applied these teaching strategies to the three instructional designs. Finally, I detect its feasibility and effectiveness through practical teaching. Meanwhile, I also make changes of my original designs through the student teaching feedback and my teaching reflection.
