A Study On The Effectiveness Of Conceptual Strategy In The Teaching Of The Important Concepts Of Junior Middle School

Compared with the previous version, the biggest change is that compulsory education biology curriculum standard(2011 edition) increases 50 important concepts under the ten topics of the course content It puts forward new teaching requirements for the biology teachers. Under the background of the new curriculum standard, biology teachers should try to explore new teaching methods to help students to understand important concepts and improve the effectiveness of teaching at the same time.The concept mapping strategy is a new means of teaching. Some front-line teachers have studied how to use the concept map strategy positively. But, is the concept mapping strategy really useful for important concept teaching? There are very few studies on it. This article mainly use the chapter "the cell is the basic unit of the life activities" in the version of junior high school biology for Jiangsu as the teaching content, use two parallel class as the teaching objects. By using the method of education experiment to verify the effectiveness of the concept mapping strategy for junior high school biology important concepts teaching.In this study, the experimental class uses the concept mapping strategy for teaching, comparative class uses the traditional method of teaching. Then the paper analyzes the experiment data of the experimental class and the comparative class after the experiment. Preliminary results indicate that using the concept mapping strategy can improve the students’ grades. The paper analyzes the questions about the important concepts in this examination, the results show that students in the experimental class understand the important concepts better than those in the comparative class. In addition, teachers can acquaintance the process that students construct the important concepts and correct students’misconceptions. It will improve teaching efficiency. At the same time, teachers can guide students to summarize the important concepts according to the concept maps. The study shows that the concept mapping strategy is useful for the important concepts teaching.
