China has56ethnic groups. Every group has its own unique national culture, which includes plenty of national essence. In the development process of Chinese thousands of years, every ethnic group solidarity and continuously together creates plenty of colorful ethnic culture resources. Part of the ethnic groups created its own national language in the process of its development, which also recorded the process of the nation’s development in the historical. Ethnic language not only carries plenty of national essence, but also witnessed the development of a ethnic. The disappearing phenomenon in a language, will also takes ethnic culture changes. Furthermore, the disappearance of ethnic language is taking place.Whether the UNESCO, or the ethnic minorities of CPPCC members, they all concerned and worried about the disappearance of minority languages, and the phenomenon of ethnic language extinction is occurring in every ethnic minority areas. In this paper, the author who conducted the observation through a member of Yi’s perspective, found that there exists a sign of disappearance of ethnic language in generation to generation. Think at the same time, a cause of the ethnic language’s disappearing comes to urbanization. I did a through investigation survey with local field residents in Luquan, Yunnan Province. According to the collected data of fieldwork, and contrasted with different structures of survey site, the article wants to analysis the phenomenon of ethnic language’s disappearing in generation to generation. Through the analysis of data, we can find that the use of ethnic language is not optimistic, and the disappearing in generation is obvious in the group of people living in Kunming who comes from Yi areas in Luquan. The situation remains the same in Luquan. The Yi language there also faces the problem of disappearing in generation. The data determines the effect of urbanization on ethnic language, it’s also been found that the changing of surrounding living environment to be a factor. The data survey also showed some of the other factors. This article looks into several factors of respondents in Luquan, such as ethnic, gender, education and employment situation, Yi Han language learning situation, economic situation, the understanding of folklore, the attitude towards the Yi children. The paper analyzes the way how urbanization, and living environment around effect the inheritance between generation of Yi language. The paper focus on the cause of Yi language disappearing from generation through statistical analysis of survey data. By using several charts, the usage of Yi language becomes more intuitive, also the development trend is more pronounced. Toward the results of the survey, as well as the present stage of the development in China, we put forward three proposals,"urbanization","home education" and "Chuxiong mode", hoping to help protecting the Yi language from disappearing between generation to generation.
