Reading is the most important ability that people can get effective information and reading ability is the foundation of the learning ability. Many studies have shown that: the elementary education is important during students’ language acquisition and thinking stage. Before grade five and six, the reading ability of students is improving steadily, whatever, after that, the development turns into slowly. So it can be said that the elementary school period is the key phase to cultivate and develop the students’ reading ability. Training the reading ability is the main teaching task during the Chinese course. So discussing the characteristics of the primary school Chinese sentence reading and finding out the primary critical period in the development of Chinese sentence reading are very valuable.The object of this research is a group of students from a primary school in Dalian who has been chosen to testing reading. According to the ways of literature review and experimental analysis to confirm the idea of this research. And according to design this research and analyst the experimental data by SPSS software to find out the feature of the primary school students’ Chinese sentence reading.The results are as follows:1. The differences between the reading comprehension capacity from distinct genders and grades are significant: girls are better than boys; then, the elementary student’s Chinese sentence reading ability improves with the grade up.2. The sentence types have no remarkable impact on primary school Chinese sentence reading ability.3. When the grade rises, on the contrary, the reading time has a downward trend: boys’ reading time are shorter than girls’.Based on the results of this study, we can come to the following conclusions:1. The elementary school students’ reading ability has been developing so fast, at the same time, the elementary school is a critical stage in the development of reading;2. As the grade rises, the girl’s reading ability is better than boy’s;3. In elementary school, we can’t tell the differences among sentence types from the reading abilities. |
