Discrimination is one of the most basic intelligent abilities in wisdom. The related researches at home and abroad are abundant, but in terms of Chinese language teaching, especially for the application of words, sound and reading, the related researches are not found more. This paper applies to identify Chinese words, sounds, reading and the teaching of them. It has a certain research value. The subject of this paper comes from the national project A Qualitative Inquiry of How the Minority Students’Academic Achievements Are Improved by Teacher Training and Education Action Research, and discrimination is one of the serious cognitive indicators. The discrimination in this paper is divided into three kinds: discrimination of images, discrimination of abstractness and discrimination of concreteness. This paper aims at the different discrimination of the students of Class 238 and Class 248.This paper evaluates each index, examines the students’language abilities, gets the data in the natural experiment and researches the their current language discrimination by the author’s three-month-long field teaching, questionnaire, academic counseling and participatory observation, trying to reveal the reasons behind the data changes and puts forward the corresponding training to improve their language discrimination.This paper finds that the total discrimination abilities of the students of Class 248 are better than those of the students of Class 238, that the image and concrete discrimination abilities of the girls of the two classes are better than those of the boys of the two classes, that the image discrimination abilities of the girls of the two classes are better than those of the boys of the two classes, that the abstract discrimination abilities of the boys of the two classes are better than those of the girls of the two classes, that the most weak point is the discrimination of poetry appreciation which leads to the lower scores because of their mechanical memory, poor self-expression and inaccurate wording. According to the above, this paper efforts to complement the lack of quantitative data through qualitative inquiry and puts forward some specific teaching methods, trying to provide reference for Chinese teaching. According to different characteristics of male and female thinking, according to their aptitudes, and fostering the boys’ image discrimination abilities, cultivate the girls’abstract discrimination, and make all kinds of discrimination of the male and female students improved.In conclusion, this paper researches the minority students’ current discrimination of Chinese and the reasons so as to explore the related teaching methods in order that the teachers should improve the students’ language discrimination, which would help them correct the answers and to further improve their Chines language achievements.
