Tradition and science are not incompatible with each other. And Chinese traditional female education thoughts are not entirely the barriers in the development of today’s society. Chinese women have fine traditional and cultural characters. They are gentle, honest, hard-working, thrifty and righteous, which are handed down from generation to generation and in a close relationship with traditional female education. These virtues are all the results of traditional education. Therefore, ancient women education is worth studying.Chinese ancient scholars payed much attention to the compilation of female teaching books, which has great significance and value of traditional female education. The article selected Biography of Varied Women, Female Analects and A Paragon of Feminine Virtue from a myriad of Chinese female teaching books, analyzed their contained female education thoughts and found the evolution of female education and female education thoughts. On the view of social background, Biography of Varied Women was finished in the beginning of the Chinese traditional society(Western Han Dynasty), Female Analects written in the period of great development of Chinese traditional society(Tang Dynasty), A Paragon of Feminine Virtue while came in the last period of Chinese traditional society(Ming Dynasty). In terms of ideological reasons, Biography of Varied Women was the product of Confucian orthodoxy and tradition, Female Analects was a result of Confucianism and Buddhism’s simultaneous prosperity and Tang’s open atmosphere, and A Paragon of Feminine Virtue was the binding reaction under the circumstance of thriving Yangming philosophy greedy human desires. While for individual reasons of composing teaching books, Liu xiang’s family culture and official career experiences, the song sisters’ family education and their noble temperament and Lv Kun’s compassionate feelings and female education consciousness all payed an important role.The analysis shows that Biography of Varied Women, Female Analects and A Paragon of Feminine Virtue have different presentation style, writing style, time and cultural imprint, educated groups. The authors are not all have same sex. From the prospective of contents, they were divided into three aspects of etiquette to teach women how to behave: being a daughter, being a wife and being a mother. Chinese traditional female teaching books have several characters: propaganda ethics supreme, give clear specification, have various types, pay attention to popularization from Tang and Song Dynasty, may be compiled by women themselves and show that women authors teach others by words and deeds, etc. They are all in order to maintain famiy ethics and political domination. After studying Chinese ancient female teaching books, we can discover some trends of women’s lives: from taking into account the external things internal affairs to only deal with the family activities around; from a variety of education and evaluation methods to a single evaluation style, From relatively relaxed living environment to traditional social restraints full of severe persecution.Studying ancient female teaching books and analyzing the characters of ancient female education will help solve the problems caused in the contemporary development process of women, which also shows that classical literature research has value that can’t be underestimated to today’s social development. Meanwhile, Studying ancient female teaching books and analyzing the characters of women themselves are conducive to the healthy development of today’s female education and social harmony, which also seek historical experience for the construction of contemporary Chinese women’s education system.
