Nowdays, the problems of food safety have caused troubles to our daily life and health. Unconsciously, people would find some food and drink they had in the past became unqualified products suddenly. Harbin Jiangbei University Town had more than 10 colleges and universities, there are more than ten thousands of college students, they are the future and hope of our country, however their irregular diet, unhealthy diet hobby and weak awareness of food safety, has harmful effects on their health. To solve these problems, a survey on diet and food safety consciousness was conducted among college students of Harbin Jiangbei University Town around Xue Yuan Road.At the early stage of the investigation, focus and understanding were firstly paid on the present situation of food safety problems in China, then analysis was taken on the environment of Harbin Jiangbei University Town, and questionnaire was designed combining with diet and food safety consciousness of college students. Surveies were done among 10,000 students from the following 5 colleges:Heilongjiang Agricultural Reclamation Vocational College, Harbin Far East Institute of Technology, ChengDong College of Northeast Agricultural Univesity, Heilongjiang Vocational Institute Ecological Engineering, Heilongjiang Biotechnology & Ecological Engineering Vocational College. A good understanding was made on the dietary habits of daily life of college students around Xue Yuan Road, and the present situation of their Knowledge, Trust and Action on the problem of food safety. Knowledge means the extent of understanding food safety incidents and food safety awareness. Trust stands for the trust on the safety of daily food. Action represents the regularity of daily food, the consciousness on how to avoid eating poisonous food and how to maintain the rights on consumption of poisoned food.According to the statistic analysis of questionnaire, the reasons on the formation of bad dietary structures and habits among college students were mainly from two aspects including the monotonous dietary environment in-campus and confused dietary environment off-campus. Less attention on current news and lack of social responsibility were the keys to the students’ weak consciousness of food safety. In response to the worried dietary environments in- and off-campus, and also in order to help college students adjust dietary structure and habit, improve food safety consciousness, corresponding countermeasures were recommended, and the effective ways and methods to improve college students’ consciousness of food safety were explored. Thus, the basis for food safety and health education on college students could be provided. At the same time, the country should increase the food safety supervision and punish unscrupulous manufacturer, the whole society should pay close attention to food safety problems, in order to provide safe food and dietary environment for college students and even the whole society.
