Teaching scaffolding is based on the scaffolds in the constructional area which functions as a supporting framework. Specifically in teaching activity, scaffolds mean all kinds of ways to help learners improve their problem solving abilities and sharpen up learner’ cognitive capacity. With the help of the teacher, students’ cognitive capacity level can change from current level to a higher level, the process of learning is just like climbing the scaffolds. In this essay, the author search deeply and then reconstruct the theoretical framework of teaching scaffolding. At the same time, from the perspective of empirical research, the author analyze the distribution of teaching scaffolds, the dynamics of teaching scaffolds, the facts that influence the choice of teaching scaffolds, and how reaching scaffolds affect classroom interaction in primary English teaching classroom through classroom observation and interviews.This essay contains five parts. The first chapter is about the research background, the research aims, the research content, meaning and methodology, and the current research situation.The second chapter combine teaching scaffold and the features of English subject together, it construct the framework of teaching scaffolding by defining the meaning, the function, the features and the disciplines of teaching scaffolds.The third chapter specifically elaborate the research procedure, it contain the research objects, research content, research method and the implementing procedure. At last, collect these data to analyze. First aspect is about the proportion of different kind of scaffolds. Second aspect is about the dynamics of teaching scaffolds used in English classroom. Third aspect is the tendency of teachers’ choice for choosing scaffolds. The last aspect is about the influence of scaffolds in English interaction.The forth chapter concludes the problems of current primary English teaching on the aspect of scaffolds. And provide some useful suggestion to improve the situation.
