Rural women in China belong to marginal groups for a long time. Few attention has been focused on their living conditions, dealing with the complex relationship among their in-laws’and their fathers’families, their husbands, children and laboring work and other social relationships, with the lack of enough social resources, social contact network and voices being ignored. This paper adopts the qualitative research methods and interviews 25 rural Chinese women who were born in 1950s,1960s,1970s,1980s and 1990s in Village Z. To supply clues for the study of rural women in China, the paper is proceeded on their marriage conditions, upward mobility of their social positions, education, their outlooks on birth and their public space. Village Z is a typical rural village in the northwest inland of China, so to some extent, changes in the lives of the women from the village reflect the lives of women in northwest China. By means of changes in women’s lives in Village Z, the paper stresses on the blocks in the developments of their lives, as well as solutions. Interviews and surveys show that women in the Village Z have the following changes in their daily life:the expansion of independence, the extension of individual pattern, the internalization of urban life style.
