Graduate education bears the heavy responsibility of training high-level talents for the country’s modernization, whose quality relates directly to the goal’s realization of creating world-class universities. With the popularization of higher education accelerating, the scale of graduate education gradually expands and the quality of education also increasingly attracts wide attention of the education sector and the community. Academic beliefs is the hidden factors affecting the academic levels and the quality of graduate education. Establishing a firm, positive academic beliefs is very important for exciting academic motivation, improving academic levels and achieving academic innovation. However, under the background of social values increasingly diverse and the employment situation not optimistic, the graduates’ academic beliefs decline. Therefore, it is vital to investigate the graduates’ academic beliefs in depth.In this study, the author selects290Academic Masters of the Shaanxi Normal University as the survey objects. Based on clarifying the meaning and structural elements of academic beliefs, this study conducts a thorough investigation in the status of graduates’ academic beliefs using questionnaires and interviews. This study uses SPSS17.0to analyze the questionnaire data. The result of this study reveals the overall condition of graduates’ academic beliefs, as well as the specific performance and problems of academic recognition, academic emotions, academic will and academic profession intentions. This study analyzes the differences of graduates’ academic beliefs under different background variables. Meanwhile, it also analyzes the relevant factors affecting graduates’ academic beliefs in depth. Finally, it puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to enhance the graduates’ academic beliefs.This study is divided into five parts based on graduates’ academic beliefs.The first part is an introduction, which explains the research background and significance, reviews the research status at home and abroad, defines the study object reasonably and describes the research ideas, methods as well as the innovations.The second part explains the connotation of graduates’ academic beliefs. Firstly, this part defines the connotation of belief and academic beliefs and clarifies the basic characteristics of academic beliefs. Secondly, it analyzes the four basic elements of academic beliefs, including academic recognition, academic emotions, academic will and academic profession intentions. Also, it presents the relationship between the four. Finally, it clarifies the practical significances of training and enhancing graduates’ academic beliefs.The third part mainly reveals the practical conditions of graduates’ academic beliefs. On the basis of verifying the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, this part uses SPSS17.0software to describe the overall situation of graduates’ academic beliefs by means of questionnaire data and interview data. Also, it conducts a detailed analysis from four dimensions. The research data shows that the graduates’ academic beliefs is at the middle level, the score of academic recognition, academic emotions, academic will and academic profession intentions shows a decreasing trend and the score of academic profession intentions belows the median threshold which remains to be strengthened. Meanwhile, this part analyzes the differences of graduates’ academic beliefs under different background variables, such as gender, grade, profession, whether are inter-disciplinary graduate, whether participated in work, undergraduate school, the tutor’s guidance hours within a month and the main source of income.The fourth part analyzes the relevant factors affecting the graduates’ academic beliefs from four aspects, such as individual, significant others(including tutors, families, peer groups, academic masters in this field and so on), school management system and social factors, which is based on questionnaires, interviews and related literatures.The fifth part mainly aimed at the influence factors, puts forward some reasonable suggestions to cultivate and improve the graduates’ academic beliefs, from four aspects including graduate student individual, tutors, school and society. Graduate student is the main body, tutor is the key, the school is the guarantee and the society provides the environment support. Only the four aspects multi-pronged, form linkage mechanism, work together, can they create a good atmosphere and environment for graduate students pursuing academic ideals and practicing academic beliefs.
