In recent years, the specific objective of the outline of curriculum reform in elementary education of China and the basic idea of the chemical curriculum standards in senior high school both refer that chemistry teaching should be based on the interest and the existing life experience of students, lay emphasis on the connection between the course content and the real life, and cultivate the ability to solve the practical problem of students. The implementation of life-oriented teaching plays an important role in transforming the teaching way and deepening the curriculum reform.This research chose the teachers and students from certain senior high schools in Nanjing as the respondents and carried out the survey by using questionnaires. Through the statistical analysis of the results, this research has summarized the positive experiences and methods during the implementation of life-oriented teaching in senior high schools, found out the existing problems during the implementation process. Besides, this research has explored the factors which have influence on the implementation of life-oriented teaching and made suggestions on how to solve the problems in order to provide the chemistry teachers working in senior high schools with some valuable suggestions. The main results are as follows:There are some positive aspects of the current situation of life-oriented teaching in senior high schools:(1)Both teachers and students have shown positive attitudes towards life-oriented teaching.(2)Educational resources for life-oriented teaching have been fully developed and used to some extend by teachers.(3)Teachers have the ability to create teaching situation based on students’life and experience.(4)Questions on the exam paper are often designed based on students’real life.There are some existing problems during the implementation process of life-oriented teaching:(1)Some teachers don’t have a good understanding of the core value of life-oriented teaching.(2)There are some problems existing in the teaching design.(3)The teaching effectiveness of life-oriented teaching should be improved.(4)The evaluation methods of teaching are over simple.(5)The homework form of students should be more various.There are both subjective factors and objective factors which influence the implementation of life-oriented teaching in senior high schools. The subjective factors mainly contain the title and academic background of teachers. The objective factors mainly contain the college entrance examination system, teaching time, teaching resources, system of teacher evaluation and so on. |
