A Comparative Analysis Of Chinese And Western Leisure Sports Culture

Abstract:The rapid development of scientific technology, economy and productive forces make people’s life more colorful. The information time and high competition also bring significant changes to people’s values and life styles. People now have more and more leisure time, so they increasingly pay attention to the value and functions of leisure sports and start explore the cultural and subcultural value of leisure sports. Leisure and leisure sports are becoming important parts in people’s modern life.The paper research starts with the basic definition of leisure by applying the method of document literature, logical analysis and comparative research. The paper focuses on leisure culture, sport culture and leisure sport culture. The author proposes the efficient experience and suggestions by borrowing experience of western countries.According to the domestic and overseas research status of leisure sport, the paper firstly introduces leisure, the development of leisure and leisure sport culture. The paper applies the method of comparison to analyzes the difference of leisure culture between China and Western countries, focusing on traditional and modern leisure culture. And then it compares differences of sport culture between China and western countries, especially on sport culture and athletic culture. Based on the former two parts, the paper Makes differences on development process, cultural cognition, cultural property and content, cultural function and education of leisure sport culture and finding the gap between China and western countries. As for the research, author proposes some overresponding countermeasures and makes a forecast for our leisure sport in order to improve the level of our research on leisure sport.Compared with China, western countries have a profound and long history of leisure sport and its culture. Its research standard stands at the forefront of the world as well. The fact that author do the research of comparing leisure sport culture between China and western countries is of great importance to the development of China’s leisure sport.
