By the abrupt advancement of new media, cyber and intelligent apparatushave become necessary instruments for college students to conduct their living,studying and social practice, meanwhile, this change have brought aboutsevere challenges and fantastic opportunities on college ideological educationwhich must be investigated on for the purpose to innovate a new model adaptedto the epoch of new media.New media is a note which has a relative meaning and nowadays meansinformation transmitting system technologically based on cyber and digitalapparatus,therefore,featured with digitalization,interaction and personification.Thanks to a continually improved production and a continually lowered cost.New media has become a mainstream in the world of media, and it is essentialto master new media for all kinds of professionals.The great challenges exerted by new media on college ideology educationrespectively through its means,contents,circumference and themes. Also,newmedia means rarely befallen opportunities for that it enhances college studentswith autonomy,creates free time and space,and creates new enchantment andamalgamation.Thus, an innovative combination of college ideology education with newmedia is a necessary method which can improve educational efficacy, cultivatesuccessors to workers for China-Featuring Socialism, enrich and develop theeducation of ideology. The combination is feasible for that the new media playsa more and more important role in college ideology education; it coincides withcognitive laws and psychological needs of college students; it has ownedpositive response by college ideology educators. Except positive effects oncollege ideology education, new media also produces some passive effects thatis it has swallowed lots of contents indiscriminately, especially from textbooks, which is in great need of innovations; it has developed a gap betweenneed and logistics of hardware, software and human resources; it has seducedcollege students into being addictive with web games which is against the aim of internet education of ideology; it has created challenge on regulators ofinternet web as a result of virtualization of beings; it has sabotaged ideologyeducation due to negative information rampant on internet; etc.Aimed at the innovation of college ideological education by way of itscombination with new media, this paper proposed some specific principles,paths and tactics. The principle is that an integration of college ideologyeducation resources should be carried out in surrounding of new media. Theintegration means that of human resources comprising students and teachersboth of who are positive; that of traditional and new media; that of regulatingtools including juristic and technological tools. The paths of integration are thatthe principal channel of college ideology education i.e. theoretical educationshould be innovated by new media; campus BBS should be a new front. Thetactics of innovation consist of the thematic tactics which means that websitesfor propagating revolutionary history and thought should be core task; and theadministration tactics which means that guidance and controlling should becombined; and the development tactics which means that forces without andwithin web should be allied; and the essence tactics which means theenhancement of helpfulness and acceptiblity.
