Adopting the research methods of documentary analysis, classroom observation, questionnaire survey, interview and so on, this article sets the Chinese teachers of ShuangDing Middle School in Guangxi ethic minority areas as the study object to discuss the connotation, content, current situation and affecting factor of the consciousness of these Chinese teachers on their students when they are giving classroom reading instruction, and then puts forward suggestions on how to prompt the consciousness of teachers on their students.Through the documentary analysis, the connotation of teachers'consciousness on their students can be defined as: the teachers'cognition on their students (the teaching objects) and the tendency of their teaching behaviors based on this cognition. By means of classroom observation and theoretical analysis, conclusion of the content of teachers'consciousness on their students has been made. It has ten aspects and three dimensionalities, including students'target sense, students'subject consciousness and students'need consciousness. The dimensionality of students'target sense includes their intellectual target sense, ability target sense, emotional attitude and values target sense, and minority culture target sense. The dimensionality of students'subject consciousness comprises their desire to participate, active participation sense and sense of interaction among students. And the dimensionality of students'need consciousness covers students'need consciousness of thought, of encouragement and of relaxed and harmonious atmosphere. Questionnaire shows that the level of teachers'consciousness on students is above the average, and as a whole this situation is good. However, to be specific of the every aspect of the teachers'consciousness on students, some are in bad or very bad situation, which reflects that some questions are existing at these aspects, such as students'lack of ethnic culture target sense, of subject consciousness and of need of encouragement consciousness. While the students'participation sense and the need sense of students'relaxed and harmonious atmosphere are in good situation. By interviewing teachers, it has been found that the external and internal factors that affect the teachers'consciousness on students are the quality of the staff, social environment, campus spiritual culture, and students'self factors. And based on the above factors, this article gives suggestions on how to prompt the teachers'consciousness on students from both internal change and external support.
