Explaing skill is a based teaching skill, also is widely used in routing teaching.The reason for this phenomenon is that it can convey so many indirect-experience in a short time and is easy to operate. No matter in education resource and time, this skill may save a lot. However, according to existing reseach of explaining skill, both normal students and teachers, they are lack of the application of explaining skill. In this paper, we view the application of explaining skill as starting point and are based in the theory of biology explaining skill in order to attain the true teaching circumstance.Though literature review, combining theory and practice, our target is to find the problems in routine explaining skill and discover the optimal methods to improve this skill and incentive biology teaching.Part one, discuss the theory of explaining skill from meaningful learning theory,Assimilation theory of cognitive psychology,Migration Theory,Education and Communication Theory.Part two, according to character of biology,we mainly discuss the elenments of explaining skill,which contain the structure of explaining skill,examples providing connection forming,feedback obtaning and so on. Only in this way, we can futher analysis the nature of explaining skill and enrich the connotation of explaining skill.Part three, in the previous studies,based on theorey of teaching evaluation,following the basic principles of evaluation.combining the new concept of explaining skill evaluation,we construct the aim of biology teaching evaluation and use literature and expert opinion to establish rating scale of biology teaching explaining skill.In this paper,we describes the measurement method in detail,the advantage of which is simple,convenient and suitable for biology teacher doing daily evaluation.Finally,10 teachers apply this to evaluate on the same vedio explaining skill and to evaluate the reliability test.The results of this test indicate a higher reliability.Part four, though the above analysing,we can find some problems as follows:before teaching,teachers can not understand the real situation about students;students falied to behave theirselves;teachers are not enough to grasp the structure of explaining skill.At the same time, we propose some strategies,as constructe the explaining skill according to the students' knowledge and experience;use this skill effectively to guide students to scientific thinking; research the content; use of error correction to breakthrough thinking obstacles in time. Finally, based on the research above and the purpose to improve the teachers'skills,we make some recommendations in three areas:promote of bio-science teacher professional development, improve teaching skills; establish the evaluation system for teachers and students development; reflect usually.
