High School Art Education from the State Education Commission in 1997, "full-time regular senior high school art appreciation syllabus (preliminary draft)," the promulgation of a formal art class until the high school curriculum into the system, with the rapid economic development and the state education more and more attention, especially in the quality of education, the new curriculum to promote art education in high schools under the western region has achieved remarkable results:the high school leaders and teachers to be concerned about the art of teaching; art education in high school from scratch from weak to strong, continuous development and progress. However, specific educational teaching, there are still many problems, such as: inadequate attention to the fine arts curriculum; lack of art education in schools long-term planning; art teaching management the lack of standardized management; art teaching shortage of qualified teachers; "Teacher Center" deprive students the choice of rights; the "art appreciation" on the theory course or become a professional story to students; lack of impact on the art teacher education and teaching development orientation; art teacher quality need to be improved; re-light the next immediate utilitarian; and other issues.
