Information processing is an element of psychological research. In the information processing theory field, the human is regarded as a kind of mechanism for the information processing. The cognitive activity is considered as a processing for information. And the learning is composed of acquisition and using of information. The process of information processing in human's brain is explained by the computer's information processing and the working model. The main subjects of the research are the information processing and remembering. The ultimate goal of teaching is to make students have the ability to solve problems freely through the training of knowledge and skills in which the main work is the effective extraction and information processing. The information extraction, also named as information retrieval which is a stage to recognize and recall, is a procedure of retrieving and extracting the information which has been stored when it is needed.In this paper the author elaborately design the test material about biology information-given problem-solving ability for students in high school. On this basis, combining theories related to problem-solving, build the dimensions structure of the biological information extraction ability, and prepare the biological measurement instrument of information extraction ability, which is reliable and effective (65 items compositing of the information extraction ability of high school biology volume of the test), testing the students of grade two in junior middle school, analyzing the test results by SPSS 13.0 analysis, determine the situation of the biological information extraction ability in high school students and try to build a data interpretation norm.The article is composed of four parts:The first part is the relevant research background of biological information extraction; the second part is meanings of study; the third part is the related theoretical basis and design of this study; the fourth part is empirical research of biological problem-solving information extraction ability; the fifth part is general discussion.By means of case studies and survey research, the results obtained are as follows:In a questionnaire survey study, the overall experimental data acquired by SPSS statistical analysis basically agree with the theoretical results, in addition to the individual dimension required to be re-adjusted and amended. And the test volume also has good reliability (total test volume coefficient of 0.939) and validity (total test volumes and volumes of sub-test correlation coefficients were 0.959-0.962). From the difference of variables basing on processing characterization and selecting strategy, build the road map for biological thinking ability in middle school students.By item analysis the author come to a conclusion: The biological information extraction ability is in middle-level for solving information giving biological problems in students of high school.They are better on Strategy application, compare with girls and boys,boys are more good at repeat delicately,information extraction,Organization strategy and finishing strategy when solving information giving biological problems in students of hign school.
