| The problem of human nature is becoming more important since modern times, and the viewpoint that human nature is basically wicked is the mainstream and direction of western outlook on human nature. Accordingly, Hobbes put forward a set of profound, systematic theories on human nature which were significant both on theoretical and realistic level. With this fairly good foundation, he created a new political philosophy, which significance and influence was profound and lasting. This paper explores the fountainhead of his human nature theory, investigates and analyzes his human nature philosophy from three different perspectives, and thereby, based on this, grasps its significance towards the modern society. |
