| Plato was not only a well-known philosopher in ancient Greece, but also a famous thinker in the history of Western Jurisprudence. He was the master of the legal culture in ancient Greece, and he was also a pioneer in a variety of legal thinking fields. Modern legal thoughts could be found in his well-informed ideology. Plato based his jurisprudence on the theory of idea, and emphasized rationalism and order, which made his justice connected with each other and logistic. From ontology to methodology, they confirmed each other and became a complete system. In the eyes of law, reason and order are the most eye-catching words in Plato's justice .Justice consists of personal justice and national justice, both of which stressed the importance of rationality and order. In short, the personal justice with passion helps rationality control the desires. All of them plays their own role, which make soul of people inherent harmonious. National justice is rulers, defenders, producers carry out their duties respectively, that is, rulers administering the country, defenders guarding the countries, and producers providing the production of necessities of life. Plato's justice has a strong feature of rationality and order.This paper is divided into four parts to analyze Plato's justice .In the first part, the author studies theory basic and inevitability of Plato's justice according to the ways of historical materialism.The second part demonstrates the focus of Plato's justice and the connotation of concept as his philosophical foundation. The author expatiates what kind of justice was objected by Plato, what is personal justice and national justice, and points out the way to achieve justice.The author in the third part analyzes justice vertically and horizontally. The former describes that there's a consistency in Plato's essential ideology, which had a clear development skeleton. Compared with the Confucian justice, we can find that Plato's justice is rather rational.In Part IV, the author explains the significance of Plato's justice in the contemporary era, and points out the association between Plato's justice and the legal value in modern times. |
