In Chinese modern history, Chen Duxiu's thoughts about capitalism played a pioneering role. In his complex life, his recognition on capitalism experienced a process of denial-to-denial and did a relatively systematical research on the relationship between capitalism and socialism. This article is divided into the following several aspects. The development path of Chen Duxiu's capitalism thoughts mainly reflects on its influence at that time. Before the establishment of Chinese Communist Party, Chen Duxiu's experience caused him to yearn for capitalism. The Opium War, the defeat of Sino-Japanese War inl894-1895 and the influence of western capitalism for Chen Duxiu when he was studying in Japan all caused him to yearn more for the thoughts of western capitalism: human rights from the god; freedom and equality and legal system. China's diplomatic defeat at Paris Peace Conference in 1919 and the malpractice of capitalism exposed in the First World War as well as the victory of the Dec. Revolution in Soviet Russia made Chen Duxiu an adorer of capitalism, gradually stepping into the opposite. He began to criticize every aspect of capitalism. Afterwards, the Great Revolution was defeated, and Chen was dismissed from CCP, but he never stopped pondering about capitalism. Because Russia had implemented Lenin's new economic policy at this time which promoted the Russian's economy; in addition, the going of Sino-Japanese War and the influence of people- essence principle to his influence, Chen Duxiu's recognition about capitalism stepped much more deeply from economic system to political system, all of which were very respectable. The content of Chen Duxiu's capitalism thoughts. This part contains three aspects, namely Chen Duxiu's economic thoughts of capitalism; his political thoughts of capitalism; his cultural thoughts of capitalism.
