China has become a multi-legal region with a unique co-existing situation of"one country, two systems, three legal departments and four legal regions"after Hong Kong and Macao's return to the motherland. However, inter-region conflicts have come up along with this situation. The solution to this problem needs a legal cooperation among different legal regions, and the recognition and enforcement of the civil judgments are the most important components of it. Only when the judgments are recognized and enforced in other legal regions, the legal interests of parties could be protected, the economic order of the inter-regions and political order could be stabilized and eventually benefit the integration of various inter-regional laws as well as the unification of the nation. Although great progress has been made to the recognition and enforcement of the inter-regional judgments so far, they still can't meet the needs of economy development in different regions due to the huge differences between the legal system and the legal culture. Therefore, they still need great improvements. In this paper the author tries to narrate and analyze the recognition and enforcement of the civil judgments in different regions of China and give some suggestions which could be beneficial for the development and improvement of this system.
