In the new historical period, the People's Liberation Army has a past than at any time in arduous and complicated task. In order to complete the mission given by the military history, we must mobilize the broad masses of military officers in particular the enthusiasm, initiative and creativity, we will have to study the PLA merit reward system. Although the PLA merit award system has been a great success, but from a planned economy to a market economy in the process of restructuring, there are still many poor areas in the military system of incentives, to a certain extent, which curb the enthusiasm of a soldier and weaken the effect of the incentives. In the grim situation at motherland and abroad, how to mobilize the enthusiasm of the military, maintain the stability of the armed forces, enhance combat effectiveness and realize the army's modernization, that is, how to ensure that the "fight to win and not to degenerate" is an important issue in front of us.This paper mainly from six parts discussed the PLA merit award system's history, the present situation has made the research analysis, and has made the discussion to the next the PLA merit award system reform. The first chapter proposes the military merit award classification, the goal and the function; the military merit award, the modernization of the army and base on human concept limits. Elaborated China ancient times, the near modern renowned character and the literature material to the military merit incentive system's research viewpoint, and proposed myself major point. The second chapter mainly narrates the Chinese military merit award system's historical evolution. The third chapter has a comparative study to the Western and the PLA award system, mainly with the American Army as an example of the characteristics and role. The fourth chapter focuses on the analysis of existing the PLA merit award system characteristics and objective description of the PLA award system principles and methods. Chapter five from the reality of the armed forces in implementing the award process, analysis the PLA merit award system and its shortcomings, and stated the need for reform of military merit awards. Chapter six puts forward the writer's ideas on how to improve and implement military merit award system from the system construction, adjusting the proportion of award link totreatment, increase media publicity and the implementation of merit award system. |
