| Rural women are not only an important force in rural development, but also an important force in village elections, promoting the continuous improvement of the electoral system in rural. Because the rural women' s political participation' s history is short and the unique culture in rural , the rural women in the political aspect is very inadequate. The reasons for which are complex. In this thesis, we take Weixin village in Hunan province as a case, investigate three times nearly two months , study the causes of the rural women' s insufficient political participation.This thesis consists of five sections.In preface, we introduced the current situation and the significance of rural women in political participation. At the same time, we introduced current research of scholars and the objects, methods used in our study.Firstly, we analyse the causes of the rural women themselves. The causes mainly include the lack of education, low psychological qualities, the multiple roles of the political conflict and poor self-awareness for rural women.Secondly, we analyse the causes of social and historical environment. The causes mainly include the lower economic status of the rural women, the marriage movement and the impact of our unique social and historical background of the family and clan.Thirdly, we analyse the causes of gender awareness, which mainly include the lack of awareness of rural women, rural female leaders' lack of gender awareness in the community, gender awareness is not included in the mainstream of decision-making and the gender-based job in village.Finally, we analyse the causes of politics and organization, which mainly include the community policy disadvantage factor, the impact of policy violate, weak rural women' s organizations and the impact of the training mechanism for the officers of rural women. |
