The paper"Analysis and Comments on the National security strategy of India's Vajpayee Government"systematically introduced and analyzed the content and characteristics of the national security strategy of India's Vajpayee Government, lucubrated and anatomized the achievements they have got and the troubles they confronted with, and evaluated the corresponding impacts on its neighboring areas and on the international security objectively.This paper is based on Dialectical materialism and Historical materialism. After analyzing historical data, by applying Realistic and Comparative study methods, I made a comprehensive introduction, analysis and evaluation of Vajpayee Government's national security strategy of India.The first chapter of this paper narrated the connotation of Vajpayee Government's national security strategy in three steps:the estimation of threat on security, the aims of security strategy, and the measures of security strategy, and emphasized wholly the Preeminent and Extroversive features of this national security strategy, which is different form its former ones.The second chapter analyzed the characteristics of Vajpayee Government's national security strategy concretely, and summed it up into four aspects. First, offensive:nuclear test and expansion of armament; second, pertinence:"Chinese threat"and strike the terrorism; third, comprehensive:pay equal attention to both internal and external security as well as to both land strategy and sea strategy; fourth, pragmatic:all-direction diplomacy and equilibrium diplomacy among great powers.The third chapter analyzed and evaluated the effects and embarrassments of Vajpayee Government's national security strategy from both positive and negative angles. For the positive aspects, it mainly contains achievements in diplomatic, military and economic fields. About the negative embarrassments, there are both real and potential ones.
