The system of 20 Degrees Peerage(二十等爵制) is a important component of political system in Qin and Han society. In early Western Han Dynasty, the degree peerage has developed maturation, and blended in every aspect such as politics, economy, etc. From The Two-Year Laws (《二年律令》)and Decrees in Zhangjiashan Bamboo slips (张家山汉简) we found the Degree Peerage Law (《爵律》) , which concerned with the stipulation about system of 20 degrees peerage. The Degree Peerage Law regulated the rand of nobility that gotten, inherited and transferred; the legal privilege that nobility may enjoy. In this thesis ,the writer attempts to expound the legislation about the system of 20 degrees peerage, and reveal the great influence that the 20 degrees peerage in early Han Dynasty's legal system. The whole thesis can be divided into the following parts.In the introductory beginning, the writer briefly discuss the staus quo of the present study, the purpose the writer intends to achieve, and the methodology employed in the present study.Part I introduces the general development of the system of 20 degrees peerage from Zhou to Han Dynasty (周汉) .The system of 20 degrees peerage has been produced in Zhou Dynasty (周朝), and went through the big transform from Spring and Autumn to Warring period (春秋战国) ,arrive final in Qin Han society finalize the design with popular. Expounds the system of 20 degrees peerage is a basic standard to divide the social grade at that time. Second, explain the major content of this system, include the specific name of the peerage, the rank of peerage. Finally, elaborate the social historical reason that the system of 20degrees peerage continued carrying out nearly Western Han (西汉初期) .Part II the basis of a comprehensive analysis of the stipulations of the 20 degrees peerage, the paper concludes that the system of 20degrees peerage has very important role in early Western Han's political system and social life.
