Core competition of corporation, a corporation strategic theory put up in 90s of 20th century, has now been widely recognized by both domestic and foreign corporations, for it tells a scientific and valid theory and gives method of analyzing and solving how to increase corporation competition and of promoting the continuous development of corporation. This theory stresses on the unique competition of the corporation as a whole, it might not be "low cost", but must be the most competitive and the most skillful ability that a corporation has to rely on. It could be such professional abilities as research and development, design, sales and marketing and performance, and also be functional ones like corporation appearance, culture and management. Corporation lack of core competition is just like a house made of paper, while that on the contrary can lead the trend in competition.After the rebuild of China National Petroleum Corporation, those taking up petroleum engineering, technology and service have been separated from the core petroleum producing industry what they have been relying on during the past decades. Thus the conflicts deep inside the corporation appeared more highlighted, the external circumstances became severe and complicated, resulting in that living and development turned out to be the all-important issue. Being one of the separated companies, China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau is facing such problems as complicated business organization, huge scale, no main managing industry, low level of administration, low efficiency, lack of talented persons and not well-organized company cultures after rebuild, which affected the competition of the company in the market badly.Through analysis and research, this article aims to tell that the approaches to increase the market competition of China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau in main managing industry should be achieved from aspects like the managing and administrating system, core business industry, creativity, sales and marketing, human resources, company culture and regulating and carrying out the suitable regulations and policy. This article has taken China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau as an research model, aiming at building it into the most competitive one in China and a well-known one in the world, also provides a series of theory and methods to increase the core competition of the corporation, to fulfill and perfect the system of core competition of corporation theory and to increase the core competition of those petroleum engineering, technology and service corporations as well.
