International contracting project as a comprehensive carrier giving an impetus to capital, technology, equipment and export of labor services has occupied a very import position in the activities of foreign trade in China. As china has been a member of WTO and our government is carrying out the strategy of "enter overseas market", more and more Chinese enterprises develop business abroad and participate in international competition. Its further continuous development is very significant both to our country to mix with global economy and to participate in international market division. The main characteristics of EPC/Turn-Key Project are following:A higher degree of certainty of final price and time is required; and The Contractor taker total responsibility for the design and execution of the project, with little involvement of the Employer. Under the usual arrangements for turnkey projects, the Contractor carries out all the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC): providing a fully-equipped facility, ready for operation (at the "turn of the key")Barapukuria Coal Mine Project with capacity of 1,000,000 raw coal per year contracted by China National Machinery Import & Export Corporation is a typical EPC/Turnkey international contracting project. This thesis takes up the whole case of this project carefully and analyses the experiences and lesson about risk transfer and risk management of international contracting project with using how to transfer and manage risk effectively in each life period of the project as main line, and with successful or failure cases about risk management in the execution of this project. The paper provides some useful thoughts and methods how to analyze, evade, control and supervise risk effectively, and meantime provides my own views that have reference value on the questions universally existing in international contracting project executed by Chinese enterprises.
