Since China's reforms and opening to the world , there have been a new economic phenomenon in our economy life. That's meaning in all over the country especially in some big cities , there are all kinds of meetings increasing , such as international or domestic technical interchange meeting, trade fair, information releasing and economic seminar etc. And also some comprehensive exhibitions and economic fairs appear in succession. With the enlarging of quantities and scale, they are taking on a strong look of development and have begun to take shape of exhibition economy.Exhibition economy has been influence on many sides of our economy life. There were more than 2000 exhibitions of different professions appeared in Chinese big cities. Exhibition industry has taken achievement in China, such as the international horticultural exhibition of Kunming, international automobile exhibition, APEC and so on. At the same time, there are some excellent exhibition cities appearing, such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Dalian etc. In these ten years , we have brought about more than $34,000 millions in export trade and more than RMB 12,000 millions in internal trade by exhibition. China undertaking the Beijing 2008'Olympic Games and Shanghai 2010'international fair also makes clear that decision and strategy of China's developing the exhibition economy.Exhibition economy is the result of market economy, whose function and effect is comprehensive and omni bearing. Exhibition economy will be a new increasing point of development of national economy.Yanbian is provided with a little developed tourism, medical industry and forestry, also provided with a little perfect communication and hotel, so it has the conditions to develop exhibition. Yanbian is very possible of becoming the center of exhibition of Tumen River Region. This thesis issues Yanbian actual situations with the beginning of connotation and effect of the exhibition economy and puts up the importance of developing exhibition economy in Yanbian and suggestions how to develop the exhibition economy.
