A brand is a "name, term, sign, symbol, design, or a combination of them intended to identify the goods and services of one seller or group of sellers and to differentiate them from those of competition. Why do brands matter? To consumers, most importantly, brands take on special meaning. Because of past experiences with the product and its marketing program over the years, consumers learn about brands. They find out which brands satisfy their needs and which do not. As a result, brands provide a shorthand device or means of simplification for their product decisions. Brands can also play an especially significant role in signaling certain product characteristics to consumers. Brands can reduce the risks in product decisions. To firms, brands serve an identification purpose to simplify product handling or tracing for the firm. A brand can retain intellectual property rights, giving legal title to the brand owner. Brands represent enormously valuable pieces of legal property.With the popularization of mobile, the quality of the mobile made by different firms are very similarly. While brand play an important role in the consumer and to firms brand can avoid the price competition. It is effective methods to raise the profit by improve the brand image and it is also a hard method to do so, esp. to nurse a new brand in mobile market. A new brand means more risk and need more resources to resist the risk. Xelibri is the first mobile brand who focuses on the design of appearance but advanced communication function. XE is not only a phone but also a fashion. In every season, Xelibri (XE) will have different style mobiles on market fitting with different suits. Every season* the style of the mobile has a theme and the number of it on market is limited. Xelibri came to mainland on 3 July, 2003 and brought fresh air in mobile market.
