On The "general Agreement On Trade In Services" Limitations And Workaround

Modern Economy is Service Economy. Since 1980s,the developing speed on trade in service is much faster than the speed on trade in cargo. Its rapid developing is one of the major characters of the economy developing in 20th century and trade in service becomes the strongest and broadest economy department day by day. All the governments in the world catch the sight of the strategic importance brought from trade in service to economy developing, and they know it is not only necessary but also possible to make up an international treaty system on opening the fields of service.Under such a giant global background, developed countries and developing countries eventually reach the treaty-General Agreement on Trade in Service (GATS), by long-time negotiations. GATS, as a global law system of international trade in service, is under the request of economy liberalization throughout the world, and it will do good to the developing of economy liberalization.However, GATS itself inavoidably has many limitations because it is the result of long-term struggles and negotiations through lots of countries in the world. Thus: we shall have clear awareness of the limitations and problems of GATS, and we must have objective thoughts and make attentive facilities to prevent bad aspects of GATS from doing bad to liberalization of world trade and prosperity of native country and the world economy.
