Study Of Cultural Tourism Resources Of Sichuan Historical And Cultural Towns

In the paper, a research is made on the characteristics of the tourism resources of the Famous Sichuan Historical and Cultural towns, and the factors affecting the tourism industry development of Famous Sichuan Historical and Cultural towns are analyzed with the data observed and investigated by the author in person. On the basis of this, the potentialities of tourism industry development of the 21 historical and cultural towns are compared and contrasted and the exploitation of tourism industry of some Historical and Cultural towns are approached in the paper.Methods applied in collecting materials for the thesis are field study and interview with experts and local people. The following are theories to support the thesis: the achievements in the fields of City Tourism, Leisure Tourism and others related; theory of Spatial Interaction in Tourism Geography the connotation and classification, of tourism resources in Tourism Resources tourism market positioning and image positioning in Tourism Market as well as the application of the theories.The thesis comprises five chapters. Chapter 1: an introduction to the Famous Sichuan Historical and Cultural towns, including the definition,classification, related research in the field as well as the present situation of the towns like location, population, economy and tourism resources and the relationship between the development and tourism of these towns. Chapter 2: the characteristics of the tourism resources of these towns are summed up from the aspects of architectural culture, landscape culture, folk custom and tourism environment after the 21 towns are put into the large amount of ancient towns in Sichuan. Chapter 3: based on facts, the author analyzes the hindrances to the development of Famous Sichuan Historical and Cultural towns, including the defects of the landscapes, the image position, rank and grade, economic circumstances, etc. Chapter 4: the author analyzes the potentialities of the development of towns situated in different regions by putting them into specific economic geographical regions. Chapter 5: in the light of the difference of the potentialities mentioned before, the author chooses some towns from Famous Sichuan Historical and Cultural towns as examples to research on their development.
