Enterprise Pdm Implementation Of Several Typical Problems

The effect of PDM technology application is mainly determined by the chosen PDM software and the implementation. Most articles discussed how to implement PDM technology on the whole or set up models for the implementation as a whole.But the PDM implementation is a detailed process, what we most care is different during the different periods of the process. This article divides the process into four periods: archives management implementation period, defferent-structed data management implementation period, supporting co-design implementation period, supporting current engineer implementation period. Then some typical problems during the different periods are pointed out. Such division is a point of view to sum up and classify the problems encountered in the implementation.Not every period has its typical problems that are discussed in this article, only archives management implementation period and defferent-structed data management implementation period do so. The case for the former is the first PDM implementation in the Xi'An Aircraft Corporation, and implementation in the flexible manufacturing center of the electronic industry ministry's 39th institute is case for the latter.At last, a PDM system, named OurPDM, that is designed and coded by others and author is described. Parts of solutions that author put forward to problems encountered during the archives management implementation period and defferent-structed data management implementation period are presented in this system.
