This paper is divided into seven parto In the fist part, the author introduces the history and development of privacy and the right to privacy, and thinks that the produce reasons of privacy include the development of the physical life and mankind's mental state need. The right of privacy is regarded as the result of mankind's civilization, and influenced by the development of science technique, not law or culture.The second part is about the important meaning of the right to privacy in the actual lives and law system from four aspects, I .e. the need that the right to privacy is a kind of natural right, the need of the heart safety, the need of the personality dignity and the need of the development of spirit civilization.The third part is about the basic theories of the law protection of the right to privacy. It includes the theory of human rights towards right of privacy, constitution theories, civil law theories and other laws' theories.The fourth part is about the design of the right to privacy's law system. The author puts forward the conception of privacy and the right to privacy, compares the right to privacy and the right to known, the right to portrait, analyzes the right to privacy's law relation, studies the important composing item of infringing the right to privacy and the legal liabilities for infringement of the right to privacy.The fifth part is about the development of information technology and the protection of the right to privacy. It is about the reasons , the approaches and the types of infringing the right to privacy on Internet.The sixth part is about the legal protection of the right to privacy in some nations and international society. Not a country's lawmaking is perfect. And the international society is not yet regulate perfect the legalprotection of the right to privacy.The seventh part is about the speculation of our country's law system of the right to privacy. Explained the legal protection of the right to privacy in our country at first. Because our country's legal protection is lax and vague, the author speculates the legally new protection system of the right to our country. Otherwise, the author puts forward the ideas of establishing uniform international private laws to protect the right to privacy on Internet.
