On Concept Of Equality

Equality has been after by most working people and advanced individuals since man entered the class - divided societies. All socialists, at home or abroad, at present or ancient time, have written much on it. Buonarroti Filippo Michele was one of the most important socialists in 1870' s. The research of his equality thoughts will help to enrich the theory of socialism.This paper superficially studies the equality thoughts of Buonarroti from three aspects.First, this essay introduces the life of Buonarroti and the background in producing his equality thoughts. Buonarroti was a great revolutionary and thinker of socialism. He devoted himself to the revolution since his youth. He joined the French Revolution and the Conspiration for Equality and so on. He struglled for all his life for achieving the working class' equality. He had a higher ability of thinking and made a good summary ofhis revolutionary activities. His equality thoughts were the results of thinking and practice.Second, this paper demonstrates the main content of his equality thoughts. Buonarroti belived that equatity,as a natural right,has been violated in the societies of private system (including the capitalist society). From his points, equality should be a political system and advanced people should try to build such system. He had a lot of glorious thoughts ofequality. He thought that the people,esp,workers,are the great strength to make equality and the power held of state by people is the key to maintain equality. He belived the Equality Republic is the ideal. He made a blueprint for establishing the Equality Republic.Finally, this essay compares Buonarrotic' s equality thoughts with those of the capitalist at the same period and those of the Utopian socialism and Marxism. It also shows the connection and difference among them in order to make a clear illustration about Buonarroti equality thoughts.Buonarroti passed away. But his glorious thoughts will inspire us. Nowadays,our country has established the socialist system and basically achieved the political equality,economical equality and cultural equality. However,there are some inequality phenomena in the beginning stage of our socialism because of historicla and present cause. Today's humankind has a long way to go towards the Cbmmunist society. We socialists should carry forward Buonarrotis revolutionary spirit and absorb his ideas andstruggle hard to achieve the ideal society in which everyone is equal-the communist Society.
