Travel Insurance System Research And Analysis

The Tourism of China has got an increasing quick development in recent 20 years. But, the incompletement of trade regulations and lack of market supervision had also led to frequent disagreements between tourists and touristic firms. And the rights of both of them could not be guaranteed in point of fact.As the development of insurance of China was fairly late, most of the people had little consciousness of insurance. And it was reflected in the trade of tourism as the neglect of management of risks. The fact that the scattering tourers who take a percentage of nearly 80% of the total amount of tourers have essentially no insurance at all has indicated that the present system of tourism insurance already could not meet the requirement of the development of tourism. The National Bureau of Tourism of China had published a new regulation in September, 1st, 2001 and abolished the former regulation of 1997 at the same time. Comparing with the old regulation, the new one has made some improvement, but still to be improved.In this paper, the author begins with the analysis of the nature of insurance and the risk management of tourism, studies the tourism insurance system of China, then compares the former system with the latter one, and analysts the present tourism insurance system in different aspects of the market, evaluates its efficiency in factual operation, then at last put forward some personal opinions on the development of the tourism insurance system of China.
