On Taiwan's Industrial Restructuring And Its Impact On Cross-strait Division Of Labor

Based on an analysis on the transformation of industry structure in Taiwan since the mid-1980s,the impact of the transformation on the division of labor in industries across the Taiwan Straits,and the issue of developing the division of labor,are discussed in this paper.There are 4 chapters in the paper:Chapter 1 is an analysis of the transformation in industry structure in Taiwan since the mid-1980s. Chapter 2 is about the impact of the transformation on division of labor in industries across the Taiwan Straits,focused on Taiwan investment in the mainland and trade across the Straits. Chapter 3 is about the future impact of the transformation,or the prosperity of the division of labor in industries showed by the future trend of the structural transformation in Taiwan. Chapter 4 is a tentative idea of developing the division of labor in industries across the Taiwan Straits.To sum up,the transformation of industry structure in Taiwan since the mid-1980s has made great impact on division of labor in industries across the Taiwan Straits,and will keep creating motive force for the division of labor,and keep enlarging space for it as well. Therefore,We should make best use of the situation,and plan for a all-round and multiple system of division of labor in industries across the Taiwan Straits,to achieve development of both sides of the Taiwan Straits,and to lay a more solid foundation of preventing Taiwan from independence and . achieving reunification of China,as well.
